Majorcool

Majorcool is a web interface maintence tool for Majordomo. To install and configure it, Telnet or SSH to your Virtual Server and do the following:

  1. Install Majordomo on your Virtual Server.

  2. Run the following commands that match your Virtual Server O/S:

    FreeBSD
    % vinstall majorcool

    BSD/OS
    % cd
    % tar xvf /usr/local/contrib/majorcool.tar
    % cd ~/usr/local/majorcool
    % ./Configure

NOTE: If your Virtual Server was ordered after Nov 22, 1999, you are likely running FreeBSD. To find out which O/S your Virtual Server is running, use the uname command:

    % uname

If your Virtual Server is not already running FreeBSD, Upgrade to a New FreeBSD Virtual Server today!

The configuration utility will ask you a series of questions. To accept all the defaults just hit enter, otherwise you have the option of changing any of the answers. The only question you must answer with text is the name for your Majorcool interface.

When you have completed the configuration utility you can run Majorcool by entering:

http://YOUR-DOMAIN.NAME/cgi-bin/majordomo/

Substitute your Virtual Server domain name for YOUR-DOMAIN.NAME. The "majordomo" in the URL is the default name of the Majorcool CGI. You can choose a different name if you want during configuration.
